Raise a glass on the stoep with some of SA’s best wine makers.
After a smash-hit launch in 2021, the entire Overberg dorpie of Greyton will once again be turned into a living, breathing celebration of food, wine, and art.
It’s the ultimate festival for people who don’t like festivals!
Instead of queuing up to taste wine at snooze-worthy generic stalls under a muggy tent, you get to meander around the pretty town, mingle with the locals and seek out 30+ knowledgable winemakers where they are camped out on the stoep of private residences, restaurants and other businesses and destinations throughout Greyton, recently crowned as ‘dorp of the year’, no less. This includes the quirky likes of AA Badenhorst Family Wines, Lismore, Kat se Snor and so much more.
The whole event has been put together as a fundraising initiative to boost the scholarship fund for Greyton House, so there is a solid kid-friendly element to it as well. And we don’t just mean that there is a stall serving hotdogs and a face-painting booth either!
There is a whole actual programme at the school for kids between 3 – 14 that includes everything from baking and hiking to ceramics. As such, parents can get in on all this epic action while the kids are entertained in the best way possible. Pretty rad, we know.
We have over 30 producers pouring their drinks from the prettiest stoeps in the village.
All cool, quirky and top of their game.
You are likely to find something completely unique at every stopover along the Greyton Wine Weekend route that winds through the town. Plus, if you get tired, you can always hitch a ride on one of the awesome donkey-cart ‘Ubers’ milling about.
Just to make things even more amazing, there are a variety of side events and workshops in the mix.
Enjoy a Moonlight Dinner with Lori Solomon, a sunset cheese and wine occasion overlooking the entire village, MTB rides, a curated kids’ art exhibition and a whole lot more.
A fabulous banquet will be hosted on Saturday 13th Nov at The Oaks Estate where guests can feast on fine food and wine. A limited gallery of internationally acclaimed artists’ will be up for auction.
